Review: Adidas F50 adiZero TRX Messi

The Adidas F50 adiZero TRX Messi were the launch boot of the new series from Adidas F50 adiZero and with the eye catching colorway and sharp look these were football/soccer fans favourite!

As the world’s best footballer continues to break records and win international accolades, adidas football have bestowed upon Leo Messi an all-new signature colourway. The f50 adizero shoes are the tools of a fearless player, agile and lightning quick, Messi rides challenges and has one ultimate aim on the pitch; to create and score goals for his team. Now fans can take a step closer to their hero with the adizero f50 Messi, part of the new Messi Collection range of boots and apparel. The Sprintskin is a 1.5mm thick layer made from DUALMAX synthetic with exclusive leather grain optic that allows the boot to be lightweight whilst maintaining a natural feeling between boot and ball, tailored for Messi’s needs. Sprintweb is the 3D printed texture on the surface of the boot that allows for exceptional ball control at speed and also provides the supple but stable construction. The final layer of boot construction is the Sprintframe, a strong but lightweight lower section that offers players a perfectly balanced boot. The new adizero f50 Messi combines revolutionary technologies and precision engineering with every aspect of the boot design based around making the wearer as fast as possible on the football field. At only 165g, the adizero f50 Messi is one of the lightest shoes on the market.

The Verdict

Comfort - 8/10
Design - 9/10
Performance - 9.5/10
Durability - 7/10

The Final Verdict

8.5/10

Overall these boots are great for strikers but I couldn't wear them for a whole season, with the material being a thin synthetic the boots wont last as long as you would hope as they get scuffs and marks easily. But if you like boots with a striking look these are for you.

Review: Adidas Copa Mundials

The Adidas Copa Mundials are one of the most classic football/soccer boot of all time. The Copa Mundials have been around for about 30 years and still its a great choice of boot.

These are the boots I wore for the whole of last season and, i'm not kidding these are the best boots I've worn up until now. There is not much to say on these boots apart from they are fully made with kangaroo leather and have the classic adidas stud pattern. The boots last you around a season but could last you more if you took care of them so they are a great buy for any player in any position.

The Verdict
Design - 8/10
Comfort 10/10
Performance - 10/10
Durability - 8/10

The Final Verdict

9.5/10

These boots are one of the most comfortable and high performance level boots on the market so i highly recommend these boots to anyone who is a die hard football/soccer fan!

Review: Nike Premier

For many players, wearing classic and traditional styled boots is the only way to go. For a long time, the Adidas Copa Mundial has been the mainstay when it comes to classically inspired boots, while it has been an area that Nike has sort of avoided by sticking with more modern feels.
Then they dropped this latest gem of a release – the Nike Premier. This is a boot that features a timeless inspired look with a whole lot of modern technology. On paper, it seems to be a rather ingenious move by the home of the swoosh and since they were unveiled to the market, there has been a steady wave of positive comments geared toward them from fans. I’ve had the boots for a few weeks and here is how they have performed.

The Veridct

Design - 9/10
Comfort - 10/10
Durability - 8/10
Performance 10/10

These boots like the Copa Mundials are striking in design as it may be a plain look, it will make you look classy on the park. These also feel as if you are wearing socks as the boots adapt to your size of foot (but that doesn't mean get a size down in boots!). The boots will last you a season maximum as they do scuff and take a beating quite easily. Hands down this is one of the best shoes on the market along side the Copa Mundials so if your a fan of this design, you should pick them up now.

Review: Pele Sports Trinity 3E

The Pele Sports Trinity 3E made a huge splash when they were released at the tail end of 2011. Prior to their release, Pele Sports had produced three other no nonsense boots that weren’t packed with technology or new innovations. However, with the Trinity, Pele Sports packed in a whole host of interesting features such as the Symbioskin upper as well as a never before seen stud configuration. All of this combined with a seriously light weight of 170 grams meant that conceptually, the Pele Sports Trinity was a giant killer, a boot that could compete with the staples of the speed boot market, the adiZero. Mercurial and the V1.11 series. I had the chance to test out the Trinity and see if they were as impressive on the pitch as they are on paper.

The Verdict

Design - 7/10
Comfort - 9/10
Performance - 8.5/10
Value - 5/10

Final Verdict

8/10

All in all the Trinity is definitely a huge leap forward for Pele Sports following the release of their three heritage boots the 1958, 1962 and 1972. While in terms of performance and comfort the Trinity ranks right up there with the best speed boots on the market, questionable durability brings the whole boot down. While it certainly is a quality release, adidas can breathe a sigh of relief as the adiZero’s position at the top of the ultralight boot chart is secure. Puma and Nike on the other hand, beware. If your a speedy winger or striker and are looking for something different and unique, I would definitely recommend the Pele Sports Trinity.

Review: Asics Lethal Stats SK

The Asics Lethal Stats SK is a moderately priced boot with some interesting technologies added in that you don’t see on your every day pair of soccer shoes. They have a 10 millimeter raised heel, and a very interesting stud configuration, suggesting that they are not your average soccer shoe. They are certainly unique, but are they worth a place in your kitbag?

The Verdict

Design - 5/10
Comfort - 8/10
Performance - 6/10
Value - 7/10

Positives:

1. Traction on hard ground: If you live in an area where you are often playing on hard dry pitches, the Lethal Stats might just be a godsend.
2. Joint relief: I can say these are some of the easiest boots on my joints that I have ever worn.
3. Value: In terms of MSRP, the Lethal Stats is comparable to the second tier releases of the big three companies, and is competitive in terms of quality. Considering that the sale price of this boot is closer to £75, it is practically a steal.

Negatives:

1. Mesh tongue: The mesh tongue really does not fit in with the rest of the boot and negatively impacts protection and shooting.
2. Unsuitability in the rain: When it gets wet out, the traction benefits are negated.

Review: Puma King SL 2013

With a new year, Puma have released a new King SL which is almost unrecognizable from its predecessor. Among some of the many changes include a new, synthetic leather upper, as well as a totally different look. With opinion divided in regards to the whole spate of changes imparted onto the whole King line, including the SL, by The Cat, we here at Soccer Reviews thought it was a good idea to test the boot out for ourselves and see how it stacked up.

The Verdict

Design - 7.5/10
Comfort - 8.5/10
Performance - 7.5/10
Durability 4/10

My thoughts after testing the King SL are bittersweet. While Puma have definitely churned out a solid boot, in my opinion it falls well short of the absolutely class, Puma King Finale SL. I have a couple of major issues with the boot, the first of which is that it does not really feel like a King anymore. It seems like Puma have jumped on the bandwagon, and rather than focusing on what they have done well in the past, they’ve pushed forward the idea of making boots lighter and lighter. The other main issues I have with the boots is the unexplainably high price tag, and the poor durability I experienced. All of these things combined make me a little hesitant in flat our recommending what is otherwise a pretty solid boot. The biggest plus I took from the King SL is probably the comfort. Puma have kept up the high bar they maintain comfort wise, and I was really happy with the fit I got with the boot. If you own the Puma King Finale SL I’d probably recommend sticking with them as they are as good as the new SL. For others, it is definitely up to you. The new King SL is definitely not the best leather speed boot on the market, but it is not a bad candidate.

Review: Asics DS Light X-Fly MS

Asics have released a number of impressive football boots this year and the model leading the charge is the DS Light X-Fly. While there are two models of the shoe, one coming in a full kangaroo leather upper with the other featuring a synthetic upper, we take a closer look at the latter in our Asics DS Light X-Fly MS

The Verdict

Design - 5/10
Comfort - 8.5/10
Performance - 8.5/10
Value - 8/10

Final Verdict
7.5/10

I was admittedly skeptical coming into this review, not sure if Asics could produce a speed boot that could truly contend with the heavyweights that currently litter and dominate the market. Following extensive testing, I gladly concede that I mistakenly and erroneously doubted the running shoe company. In short, I believe that the Asics DS Light X-Fly MS could measure up to and surpass even, many, if not all other speed boots out there, and for that, Asics should be commended.

Review: Warrior Sports Skreamer S-Lite Pro

The Warrior Sports Skreamer S-Lite Pro are now available to buy from football/soccer stores.

The Verdict

Design - 8.5/10
Comfort - 7/10
Performance - 7.5/10
Value -9/10

Final Verdict

8.5/10

We have seen many football boot brands hit the market then, slowly but surely, start to die off. Yet there is something a little bit different with Warrior Sports. Warrior Sports have presented something different to the boot market, but it is something that is genuinely marketable and works well on the pitch. The plastic vamp of the Skreamer S-Lite would not look out of place on a Nike T90 Laser or an adidas Predator, that is what Warrior Sports have done well here. While there has been a number of pros preferring the leather Skreamer over the S-Lite, there has been enough to suggest that the S-Lite is a solid enough boot to compete with the big boys for (hopefully) years to come.

Review: Under Armour Blur Carbon III

The Under Armour Blur Carbon III is the new football/soccer boots ready for the 2013/14 season.

The Verdict

Design - 7.5/10
Comfort - 6/10
Performance - 5/10
Value - 6/10

Final Verdict

6.5/10

I'm going to be honest, I was disappointed with the new Under Armour football/soccer boots. When you consider that they are relatively new to a market that is dominated by two, arguably three, huge brands, the fact that they’ve even considered releasing a boot which breaks the mold of the average football boot is commendable. Yes, the execution isn’t exactly there as of yet and the boot has its flaws, most notably the tongue, and the composition of the upper, but at the same time it has some positives — the uniquely designed soleplate being the chief one, and the great extras. I wouldn’t recommend this boot outright as there are definitely better offerings on the market for a similar, or even cheaper, price. That being said, Under Armour are a brand to watch and I’m convinced that even though this might not be a great boot, its first brilliant one is not far off.

Review: Adidas Nitrocharge 1.0

A few weeks back Adidas released the new Nitrocharge 1.0, these boots are onne of the top boots for 2013 and for the new season about to start.

The Verdict

Design - 9.5/10
Comfort - 9/10
Performance - 8.5/10
Value - 8/10

Final Verdict

8.5/10

When you look at the big picture, there is a lot going on with the adidas Nitrocharge. There is the Energypulse in the outsole, the protective mesh, the HybridTouch upper, and of course the Energysling running across the midfoot. Yet despite everything about the boot, it all works together into one nice little package. Every little aspect about the boot does make sense, whether it be the protective mesh or the Energysling to secure your foot into the boot, it just works. The Nitrocharge 1.0 impressed on so many levels, and I believe the Nitrocharge 1.0 will be what the CTR360 Maestri III is to Nike in the sense that it will be a very, very popular boot come the start of the season. We do not want lightweight boots anymore, we want boots with more substance, and adidas have answered to the call very well. Boot reviewers always have a large collection of boots, and there are always one or two boots that we always come back to. For me, it is the Mizuno Morelia Neo, but I now think that the Nitrocharge 1.0 is the boot I will come back to time and time again, it is definitely a boot that I highly recommend.

Review: Mizuno Estrela Neo

The new Mizuno Estrela Neo is one of the best buys of the football new season and believe me this boot will not disappoint you if you decide to make a purchase!

The Verdict

Comfort - 9/10
Design - 9.5/10
Performance - 9.5/10
Value - 9/10

Overall Verdict

9.5/10

In terms of leather speed boots, this is one of the best available on the market, and not just in terms of value, but also in terms of performance and as a boot on the whole. In terms of all speed boots, this is still one of the best on the market. It is a competitive boot from Mizuno despite its official standing as the little brother of the Morelia Neo. Weighing in at 190g it is competitive in the weight divisions, and the leather forefoot is a massive plus for leather boot enthusiasts. This is a boot that encompasses tried and tested factors such as leather, conical studs and a riveted soleplate into a boot that is highly competitive at a top price. A top boot that I recommend for any player.

Review: Messi Adidas F50 adizero MiCoach 2 Turbo/Purple/White

The new Messi Adidas F50 adizero MiCoach 2 are available now!
The first thing that pops is the colourway and the graphics, The pictures i saw a few weeks back were not too appealing with the bright colorway but when you see them in person they look a lot better. Although it shows red in the picture below but you will find that in well lit areas the red looks more of a salmon and even pinkish colour so be sure to keep that in mind.

After using these shoes a few times to really get a good feel of the boot this is my verdict

Looks / Design - 8/10
Comfort - 9/10
Durability - 7/10
Performance - 9/10

The overall boot itself is great but a few matches in and you will find with the synthetic you will get some scuffs around the toe area but that doesn't really matter. The comfort level is good for its lightness and the overall feel. Performance is good as you get a good feel of the ball when making that vital pass or that shot on goal  so my overall score for these boots is a...

Boot Review: Nike HyperVenom Phantom Orange/Black

The new Nike HyperVenom is one of the most awaited boots of 2013 with the new Nike skin replacing the ultra light synthetic makes the boot pop even more. The Black and Orange colorway is a part of the Nike Stealth Pack alongside the Nike Mercurial, CTR360 and Tiempo. The HyperVenom is the new style of boot replacing the classic T90. These boots retail at around £220

Verdict:
Comfort - 9/10
Style / Design - 10/10
Price - 7/10
Durability - 9/10

These boots are that comfortable and light that it feels like you don't even have boots on, it feels as if you are running around in your socks! The design is the main part any player looks for in a pair of football boots and these are brilliant! They are a little pricey although if you are serious about football you should definitely pick these up. The boots will probably last you a whole season or maybe even  more depending how many times you play and train and also how the surface is.

These boots come in 2 different stud patterns
Firm Ground
Soft Ground Pro (mix between Soft Ground and Firm Ground)

The Nike HyperVenom also comes in two more colorways Black / Orange & Green/Black/White
